This large project was complicated because there were four separate buildings that joined each other to create an atrium in the centre. The basements were tackled separately because they had to be propped. There were weight restrictions that needed to be taken into account as well as the impact of the demolition on the Sandton CBD in terms of dust and disturbance.
Being in the business hub of Sandton meant that safety was a priority. Equally important was keeping the site as clean as possible, especially after the large amounts of dust released by 8 000m3 of rubble. The job received Green Star accreditation.
